Qatar, the host country for the FIFA World Cup in 2022, has been experiencing some significant injuries to its players during the tournament.
One of the most notable injuries was that of Qatar's star player, Mohammed Suleiman Al Mubarak, who sustained a broken leg during a match against Saudi Arabia on June 17th. The injury required immediate surgery and he will be out for several months.
Another player who suffered a serious knee injury was Alaa Al Jumaihi, a defender from Egypt. He tore his ACL in a clash with the Netherlands during their quarter-final match on July 14th. The severity of the injury is not yet known but it is expected to sideline him for several months.
Other injured players include Alwaleed El Grawa, a forward from Bahrain, who sustained a dislocated shoulder in a friendly match against Japan on August 8th. His recovery time remains uncertain.
The injury updates come as Qatar prepares to face tough opponents in the tournament, including Argentina, Brazil, and France. The team will need all its experienced players to perform at peak levels if they want to secure a top-four finish.
